Info:
Created with precision and accuracy in mind, the FPS Freek is our flagship PS3 and Xbox 360 controller accessory.  Fueled by our desire to win, the FPS Freek analog stick extender was developed for the sole purpose of becoming better at first-person shooters.  The result has become somewhat of a legend.  Proven a winner time and time again, the FPS Freek has been praised by numerous professionals, enthusiasts and n00bs alike.

By increasing the length of the analog sticks slightly, precision while aiming is improved dramatically.  Your range of motion is increased by 40%, giving you the opportunity to make smaller adjustments and ?snap? to targets much faster in first-person shooters.  This affords you the luxury of turning up controller stick sensitivities to get the closest feel to a mouse possible on a console without an internal controller mod or cheat.  The greater leverage offers you better control and less force?alleviating thumb-fatigue and adding more comfort to long gaming sessions.  In short, this increased accuracy and decreased thumb-fatigue results in more kills and less deaths.

In the competitive world of online gaming, you?d be crazy to play without the FPS Freek!

FPS Freek is designed to fit both the PS3 controller and Xbox 360 controller but will also fit many third-party versions.

News/Updates / 3 Worst Character Deaths of 2011
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:47:29 am »

On an average bases video games come complete with multiple different modes a player find themselves buried in for hours. One of the most compelling points in any game is story missions. The missions and characters are a striking point which can make a player fall in love with a game. Characters are what make a game interesting; they grab the player?s attention and pull them through their hardship and prosperity. In most cases these characters become a player?s idol, they are their heroes and in some ways an inspiration. 2011 housed a great year in gaming where many popular titles were released. These sought after titles held characters that were near and dear to players around the world. Some of these games excelled in story mode with unforgettable characters while others forgot their roots; the characters who made them famous. Below you will find a list of the three worst character deaths of 2011.

1. Johnny Gat- Saints Row: The Third

Johnny Gat was just one of the characters that were hard not to love. In all of the Saints Row releases he was nothing short of the baddest mother F*cker around. He was as though as a tank and wittier than anybody you have ever met. He made players love his perfectly placed one liner?s and his out of this world way of survival. Johnny Gat was one of the mostbeloved players I have ever come across. He brought a true sense of gangster, street knowledge to Saints Row.

After getting to know and love this character like no other; Saints Row: The Third starts off the game by killing him off in an airplane while you and female accomplish, Shaundi, survive. Apparently Johnny Gat is want made the game cool because unlike the other Saints Row titles; Saints Row: The Third was geared around whatever is funny instead of the perfect mix of hilarious yet outlandishly true gangster behavior. Even though it was stated in the game that Johnny Gat is dead; I cannot believe the statement. His death left diehard fans in an outrage. Think of Johnny Gat being dead is a thought that would never cross a true Saints Row fans imagination.

On a side note? on the radio after Johnny?s death the news reporter states that there are no remains of a plane (he supposedly died) found. This is significant because Johnny told your player in the plane that he would fly the falling plane back to the Saints territory of Stillwater and to not worry about him; get yourself and Shaundi to safety. So did Johnny Gat really die or is he really alive?

The year of 2011 was a year of wonderful releases with a lot of traumatic deaths. With the death of these loved characters it?s a wonder where the series will turn next. Gears of War 3 was supposed to be ?the end? anyway so maybe players will be graced by Dom?s presence in a prequel. But what is Modern Warfare without Soap. And how will a next installment to the Saints Row series look without the cool attitude of beloved Johnny Gat? All that can be said about the death of these three great heroes is they were much loved and will be missed greatly; hopefully somehow in some way they might return.

2. Soap- Modern Warfare 3

Modern Warfare became the world?s craze with the release of Call of Duty 4 in 2007. In this game the player takes the role of Soap MacTavish from a first person perspective. The players in ways become Soap. They experience his hardships first hand as if they were the character. You see what Soap has endured you know just as well as he does.

After growing attached to MacTavish in the first Modern Warfare release, the player next gets to know Soap a little more personally in Modern Warfare 2. Soap now as he walks along side of you. He now has a look, a face and a true personality. Soap is your true friend, he is your battle partner and someone anyone could look up to. By the end of Modern Warfare 2, Soap pulls a knife straight out of himself to kill his foe. He is seemingly unstoppable.

Modern Warfare 3 kicks off with some familiar faces, Soap being one of them. He is then patched upfrom his knife wound and ready to fight. Being by one of your favorite heroes being along side of him again is comforting, fun and exciting. After an explosion from atop a high building, Soap tackles your character out of a window until you both hit the floor. Your character is up within seconds while Soap winds up wounded and heavily bleeding. Players were most likely under the impression Soap was going to make it but they couldn?t have been more wrong. Soap bleed out by the end of that level leaving players shocked and disappointed. How could a man who endured as much as Soap MacTravish go down the way he did. I am shocked beyond belief that that man is no longer with us.

3. Dom Santiago- Gears of War 3

Gears of War became a world renowned title for Xbox 360 players in 2006. The game was unique in so many different ways. Each of the characters in this game was different; they were mysterious, and all of their attitudes offset each other to the finest degree. One of the favored characters was protagonist Marcus Fenix?s best friend, Dom Santiago.

Dom was Marcus?s right hand man. He was comforting and determined to find his family. By the end of Gears of War 2 Dom was heartbroken from the demise of his wife and his attitude seemed to have changed forever. Although he wore a different attitude since we met him back on the first Gears of War he still attempted to be same hero at the release of 2011?s Gears of War 3.

In the latest Gears title the slogan, ?Brother?s till the end?, became clear as Dom committed suicide after viewing his wife?s grave and he and his team got caught up in an almost inescapable position. Dom?s suicide was what helped his friends survive but it was still heartbreaking to see the character go. In all honesty, Dom was a changed man but players were still saddened by his death. Dying for his friends may have been the ?right? thing for him to do; however, having a character that players got to know for such a long time die was a painful, tear-jerking moment.

News/Updates / Treyarch Dev Talks CoD Gun Balance and Why It?s Broken
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:40:46 am »

David Vonderhaar, Lead Gameplay Designer at Treyarch, has recently been talking with fans about a rather touchy subject: gun balance. He also had some very bold things to say regarding the direction Call of Duty seems to be going. He recently asked this question on Twitter: ?True or False. Perks/ Proficiencies (like Steady Aim/ Quickdraw/ Kick) interfere with gun balance; get in the way of making game competitive.?

Apparently, Vonderhaar ?feels like we could see greater gun diversity & less ?OP? weapons, if [he] could reserve those ?properties? to be part of the base gun.? He believes that ?of course you have OP weapons if you can take any of the guns and make them fire faster, reload faster, be more accurate, and have less kick.? We can assume that an example of this could be the case of recoil-less weapons made even sturdier by proficiencies like kick. Instead, he suggests that ?if every gun had the 1 or 2 things it did well and the 1 or 2 things it did poorly, you?d have better gun balance.? One fan asked if he considered the fact that perks and proficiencies might bring diversity to the game, which could level the playing field. Vonderhaar responded, ?the guns don?t need Perks to be diverse. They can be diverse. Perks ensure they all have to be similar, so that the Perks don?t OP any one of the properties of the gun.?

Now, considering that proficiencies were introduced by Infinity Ward in Modern Warfare 3, could this be a critique of IW?s way of doing things? Or, perhaps even a critique of the direction Call of Duty has been going in general? It seems to be the case as Vonderhaar later boldly stated, ?it?s the wrong way to think about it that?s comes from years of us abusing and conditioning you, perhaps, with crap gun tuning.? This also suggests that Treyarch?s next entry could be something a little different than what we?ve come to expect of the Call of Duty franchise.

Vonderhaar?s (much appreciative) transparency with Call of Duty fans is undoubtedly in preparation for Treyarch?s next title, be it ?Iron Wolf? or ?Black Ops 2.?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Do you feel perks and proficiencies can potentially ruin gun balance?
